KLM changed baggage rules for European flights for tickets issued starting 22nd of April 2013

For tickets issued on and after April 22nd, KLM passengers travelling in Economy class on European routes have to pay for their first checked in baggage.
This applies to:
  • European flights: direct flights and connecting flights within Europe
  • Passengers in Economy class travel (except Y and B class “ fully flexible”)
  • Tickets including KLM segments (can be operated by KLM or code share with other carriers)
  • Excluded countries for now : Italy, Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Turkey
 
Exceptions:
 
  • All Flying Blue members (including Ivory)
  • Corporate passengers (corporate & published fares)and Blue Biz members
  • Special Programs (Seamen, Missionaries)
  • Sky Team Elite and Elite Plus Passengers
  • Passenger traveling on a Y or B-economy class ticket(“ fully flexible” type of ticket)
 
 
Price levels check-in baggage: price per standard piece of baggage
  • 30 Euro on airport
  • 15 Euro off airport (Online via My Trip, Internet Check-in, Mobile check-in ) and via travel agency
 
Standard piece of 23 kilo’s per one way. (l + b + h max. 158 cm (62 inch)).
Hand luggage (as is):55cm x 25cm x 35cm + accessories – total 12 Kilo
